About
Welcome to Duck Duck Goodies! We are a cottage bakery in Frisco, Texas, specializing in making treats for you to share with friends and family. Everything we sell is handmade in my home.
About me
I'm Catie Patterson, a former college professor, turned baker. I have always enjoyed baking for a crowd, and so I have decided to pursue baking professionally. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, hiking, camping, and crocheting.
Why is it called Duck Duck Goodies?
The name for my business took its inspiration from the wooden duck with boots that sits on my mantel at home. Also, who doesn't like a good pun?
What is a cottage bakery?
The state of Texas has "cottage food laws" that allow entrepreneurs to sell certain food items produced in the home. Under this law, Duck Duck Goodies can sell non-refrigerated bakery and confectionery products. The state laws that govern small businesses like mine are Texas SB 81 (2011), HB 970 (2013), and SB 572 (2019). If you have any questions about the cottage food law, feel free to ask me or check out this link.
